YES! A classic Garratt locomotive in 1/24th-scale!
Designed to be run on G-scale outdoor track (45mm gauge),
and electrically (track) powered. Driven by 2 BBT-460
drive units, this loco will have some serious pulling power.
Other features include Roundhouse Engineering Walschaerts
Valve Gear (front & rear units), UV-resistant polyurethane
resin & ABS plastic construction, all metal wheels (4-6-4+4-6-4
configuration), and Kadee couplers of your choice.

Most southern African railways are gauged to 3ft 6in (42in)
between the rails, commonly referred to as "Cape Gauge."
G-scale outdoor track is 45mm between the rails, which scales
out almost perfectly as Cape Gauge in 1/24th-scale. |

have really serious pulling power, just like the real thing.

feature polyurethane cast resin wheels and valve gear, and
are not intended to be converted to actual use. |

These were originally developed from MDC
ore hopper cars for our outdoor layout, which runs dual-gauge
(45mm & 32mm). These were made to run on 32mm track,
while scaled for 1/24th-scale. We shortened and sectioned
MDC ore hopper cars and added LOTS of detail to make them
look as realistic as possible. Bettendorf trucks with
insulated wheels are included (so you can run these with track
power). |
What is Gn2? It is the term
some use to represent VERY narrow gauge equipment, such as
2-foot gauge, to run on 32mm-gauged track (commonly used for
"0"-scale models, widely available for G-scale layouts).
32mm track closely represents 2-foot gauge in 1:20.3-scale
(best for 1:19-scale industrial or mining lines), but in 1/24th-scale
it measures more closely to 30-inch gauge. If you want true
24n2 (1:24-scale 2-foot gauge) wheels, we can gauge these
to 22mm (S-gauge), which properly represents 2-foot gauge
in 1:24-scale. |

Need a period-authentic dozer for your
outdoor railroad? Look no further! Based on the
RD-8 diesel tractor, this model features a cable-operated
blade, just as the real dozers operated before the advent
of hydraulic cylinders in the late-40s/early-50s. Cast
in UV-resistant polyurethane resin and painted in the familiar
yellow shade. Pose it working away on your layout, or
chain it down on a flatcar as a new delivery. A version
will also be available with the cable boom on the side of
the tractor.

Up to now, the only 1/25th-scale dozer
available for your outdoor railroad layout has been the First
Gear International TD25, which features hydraulic cylinders
and represents a more modern style of dozer. Now you
can more authentically "date" your railroad to an
earlier time, when cable dozers were the latest and greatest
in earthmoving and construction technology. |

cab conversion kits include cabs, hoods (bonnets), full interior,
cab mounts, sun visors, and front bumper. Available in day
cab or integrated sleeper cab.

These are NOT simple re-pops
of the old ERTL cabs, but rather the proper wide cabs as used
by International-Australia; each cab has been widened to the
proper 110-inch width. Hoods/bonnets are mostly scratchbuilt
to reflect the appropriate width as well. **Bullbars, bug
deflectors, windscreen shields are NOT included** |

Silver State
Specialties was created in 1999 to offer quality resin accessories,
replacement parts and conversion kits, suitable for many 1/25-scale
plastic model kits. SSS specializes in accessories and parts
for plastic model pickup, SUV,
4x4, and heavy truck & trailer kits. 1/32-scale and 1/35-scale
parts and accessories will be available in the future for model
truck kits, such as the 1/32 Monogram Snap-Tite and ERTL snap-together
kits, as well as 1/35-scale Revell, Italeri, AFV Club, Trumpeter,
Airfix, Heller, Tamiya, and other military model truck kits.
Some of these smaller scale model kits are quite well detailed,
and a wide variety of photo-etched, resin, and other accessories
are widely available for most of these military truck model kits.
What's even more exciting is the line of 1/24th & 1/25th-scale
military model kits and conversions we are in the early stages of
developing, to nicely compliment your ERTL, AMT, Italeri, Revell,
and other brands of truck models.
Silver State Specialties is working on resin accessories and complete
kits for G- gauge outdoor garden railway trains ("Large Scale")
in 1/24th-scale. Some patterns have been completed, and many more
are under construction. These kits and accessories will include
complete Beyer-Garratt style of locomotives and Narrow Gauge ore
hopper cars, as well as 24-inch & 30-inch gauge industrial equipment
in this same scale.
SSS also has master patterns partially completed for many 1/16-scale
model truck accessories and conversion kits, mainly for the Monogram-Revell
1/16-scale model truck kits. Some projected accessories for
these 1/16-scale kits are front drive axles, different wheels and
tires, air cleaner accessories, pusher and tag axles, oil filters
and engine accessories, and possibly different engines. Cab
& hood conversion kits remain a possibility for these monsters
as well, but are still years away from being offered as there are
more pressing projects to push forward with first. But someday
they should be available!
